Community, Connection & Participation at the Sandy Running Festival
24 Mar 2026

The Sandy Running Festival is a community event that brings together students, staff and families in a shared experience of endurance, purpose and connection. Participants take part as runners, walkers, volunteers and supporters, contributing to the event in a variety of ways, from completing the course to assisting with fundraising and event logistics.

Our school’s involvement in the Sandy Running Festival connects with our Year 9 Signature Program, The Rite Journey. This year, our school community contributed to an amazing $35,000 raised in support of Bright Futures, helping fund vital maternal and child health projects in South Sudan and Northern Uganda.

Over time, the Sandy Running Festival has become a significant tradition within the program, reflecting a culture of generosity, grit and shared purpose across our community. Through this experience, students develop teamwork, perseverance and a strong sense of community while engaging in an event that brings to life the values at the heart of the program.
