Transitioning from Home to ELC

ELC Tips & Tricks

Starting at King’s Early Learners is a big and exciting step, for both you and your child. To help you feel confident and well-prepared, we’ve put together some helpful tips and information to support a smooth transition into our learning environment.

Helpful Resources

To help your child thrive in our daily routines and feel confident in their independence, we ask that children are toilet trained before they begin at King’s Early Learners.

While we’re always here to support your child’s wellbeing, our spaces are not equipped for regular nappy changing or toileting assistance. Children are expected to manage their toileting independently, unless a medical or developmental need means extra support is required. If that’s the case for your child, please reach out via the button below - we’re more than happy to work with you.

Helpful resources to support your toilet training journey:

Tip: Consistency is key! Try to establish a toilet routine at home that mirrors the independence your child will need at ELC.

We look forward to welcoming you to our ELC community! In preparation for your child's commencement at King's Early Learners, please ensure you confirm your requested days of attendance as soon as possible. This assists our team plan for programs and staffing, and can be requested via your Application for Enrolment or by speaking with our Enrolments Team.

To be fair to all families, especially those on our waiting list, once days are confirmed, a minimum of one term’s fees will apply - even if your child starts later in the term. This helps us allocate places with care and maintain the sustainability of our service.

Tip: Finalise your days early to avoid missing out on preferred options, and chat with us if your needs change.

The health and safety of our children and staff is a top priority. If your child shows signs of illness while at ELC, we’ll contact you and ask that they are collected within the hour.

This policy helps us ensure a healthy and safe space for everyone in our care.

Tip: Pack a change of clothes and speak with your child about telling an educator if they feel unwell. This builds awareness and trust.

We’re here to support your family every step of the way! If you have any questions - whether it’s about toilet training, routines, or how your child is settling in - please reach out. We love partnering with families to make the ELC journey a positive one.
