We are so excited to invite you to be part of something special, joining the King’s Team at the upcoming Sandy Running Festival!
This is more than a fun run - it’s an opportunity to come together as a community, challenge ourselves, and make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable mothers and children in remote South Sudan and Northern Uganda.
- When: Saturday 21 March (Week 8)
- Where: Semaphore
- Distances: 5km, 10km or 21km - run or walk at your own pace!
There’s no registration fee - simply join as a member of the King’s Team via the button below! Our shared goal is for each participant to raise $40, with every dollar contributing to our King’s Team total and helping fund life-saving projects.
Let’s step out together, expand our limits, and show the heart of King’s in action!
Volunteer Opportunities
For those who are keen to support the event, but would prefer not to run or walk, we warmly invite you to join the volunteer team and help bring the day to life! The festival crew are currently seeking Course Marshals, Aid Station Crew Members, Event Photographers, Roaming Event Support and Finish Line Set Up/Pack Up Support.

About the Sandy Running Festival
The Sandy Running Festival is an annual fun run to provide life-saving help and development to vulnerable mothers and children in remote South Sudan and Northern Uganda.
Co-founded by King's Old Scholar, Andy Dunt, this event is for those who love running and those who want to make a difference in the lives of women and children tackling poverty. The Sandy Running Festival is an event and community for us to achieve this together.
Taking place in a unique location along stunning coastline (literally hugging the coast on the sand rocks and clifftop boardwalks as much as possible) between West Beach and North Haven, the Sandy Running Festival has something for everyone in terms of distance and challenge - with 5km, 10km and 21km options, for you to run or walk at your own pace.
Where does the money go?
All profits support maternal and child health projects in South Sudan and Northern Uganda. These initiatives provide midwife training, medicines, equipment, and clinic support, resources that can mean the difference between life and death for mothers and children.
Over the past four years, the Sandy Running Festival has raised more than $80,000 to support paediatric care and remote health clinics. This year, we would love the King’s Community to be part of continuing that impact.
Whether you run, walk, volunteer or cheer from the sidelines, you are helping change lives.
