Subject Overview

In Year 10 Music B, students interpret, rehearse and perform in Solo and Ensemble Performance with technical control, expression and stylistic understanding.

They analyse and evaluate the works performed by themselves and others in a range of music styles.

Students explore the impact of music in our world to inform and shape interpretations, performances and compositions.

Students undertake study in Year 10 Music B through the following topics:

  • Ensemble Performance Technique
  • Solo Performance Technique
  • Music for World Change - Songwriting
  • Film Composition

Assessment

Year 10 assessment is comprised of 100% school-based assessment. Students demonstrate evidence of their learning through the following assessment types:

  • Assessment Type 1: Performance (50%)
  • Assessment Type 2: Music for World Change - Songwriting (25%)
  • Assessment Type 3: Film/Composition (25%)

Examination:

  • This subject has does not have an Examination at the end of the semester.
