Subject Overview

Exploring Identities and Futures (EIF) is a compulsory South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE) subject undertaken by all Year 10 students for the equivalent of one semester. Students explore their aspirations and are given space and opportunity to extend their thinking beyond what they want to do, to consider who they want to be. EIF prepares students for their SACE journey and the knowledge, skills and capabilities required to be thriving learners.

In this subject, students:

  • Develop agency
  • Demonstrate self-efficacy
  • Apply self-regulation skills
  • Develop their communication skills

Assessment

Stage 1 assessment is comprised of 100% school-based assessment. Students demonstrate evidence of their learning through the following assessment types:

  • Assessment Type 1: Exploring Me and Who I Want to Be
  • Assessment Type 2: Taking Action and Showcasing my Capabilities

Examination:

  • This subject does not have an Examination at the end of the semester.
