Year 10 Software Design

About this Subject

  • Length of Study: One Semester

Subject Overview

This semester students will develop a game solution using Unity, and evaluate their game through peer-based feedback.

Students progressively become more skilled at identifying the steps involved in planning solutions using flowcharts and pseudo code and develop detailed plans.

When creating solutions, students comply with legal obligations, particularly with respect to the ownership of information, and when creating interactive solutions for sharing in online environments.

Students undertake study in Year 10 Software Design through the following topics:

  • Unity Basics
  • Physics and Colliders
  • Graphical User Interfaces (GUI)
  • Sprites
  • Scripts

Assessment

Year 10 assessment is comprised of 100% school-based assessment. Students demonstrate evidence of their learning through the following assessment types:

  • Folio: Written Analysis Report (30%)
  • Practical: Portfolio of Practical Work (70%)

Examination:

  • This subject does not have an Examination at the end of the semester.
