One Semester
Subject Overview
In Year 9, students plan and manage game-based digital projects using an iterative approach. They define and decompose problems to create algorithms and flowcharts. They design, implement and evaluate game programs using an object-oriented programming language.
Students test their game with target audiences. Through this, they are able to identify needed changes to their designed digital solutions. They evaluate their solutions in terms of risk, sustainability and potential for innovation and enterprise.
They share and collaborate online, establishing protocols for the use, transmission and maintenance of projects. Students explain simple data compression, and why content data are separated from presentation.
Students undertake study in Year 9 Computer Game Design through the following topics:
- Graphics and Animation
- Programming Instances
- Program Design
