Subject Overview

Learning Mathematics creates opportunities for students to develop the numeracy and critical and creative thinking capabilities that they need in their personal and civic life. The Australian Curriculum provides students with essential Mathematical skills and knowledge in order to develop proficiency in problem-solving and Mathematical reasoning.

In Year 9, students at King's engage with the curriculum in a variety of ways. This includes engagement with rich learning tasks, inquiry tasks and Mathematical investigations.

Students undertake study in Year 9 Mathematics throughout the year through the following content strands:

  • Number and Algebra
  • Measurement and Geometry
  • Statistics and Probability
